Here’s One Way To End The Conflict Between Writing What I Know And What I Want
The way I write reflects the way I am but then I am evolving.
There is this constant dilemma for me to balance between the fine art of writing about things I know and the things I imagine, think and am currently exploring.
The solution, I know, is somewhere in the middle and right in front of me but not obvious yet.
To be any kind of creator, I noticed, the successful type of content is the one where it reflects the creator’s personality. The content becomes just an extension of their sentiments and thoughts. The idea comes from their ideology.
To be so confident to express yourself is an art in itself.
One major hurdle in expressing myself freely is the refusal to accept the qualities that make me, Me. There is no right course, tutorial and/or university that is inept to teach me to be myself. The solution has to come from within.
Accepting my expertise and staying true to my own belief.
In order to write about the things I know, I realized I need to learn to accept my own expertise. The belief that my learnings are my own and they have value is not something that will come naturally. The work starts within.
The flipside to the above point is, to write about topics that I want, I need to have my own belief system and I need to stay strong in that system to form my own opinions.
A good writing piece either delivers on facts and data or provides a strong opinion.
I have struggled to see value in some of the pieces I have written in the past but received valuable feedback from the readers. It makes me wonder, who decides the value of a piece of content?
The answer unanimously is a Reader.
Finally, to resolve the conflict between writing what I know and writing what I want, there is only one way-
Sit to write with a self-belief of an expert.
